Catfish Slip D Multi Rig

  • Ricks Rigz is the first to offer this rig on a commercial basis although some anglers have been using this and trying to keep it quiet because of how effective it is!
  • Like most catfish rigs are a variation of Carp rigs, just made with bigger and stronger materials to combat these large aggressive predators. Catfish feed different to carp where as they dont suck in and blow out their food they just engulf it and swallow, by adding a shot on the hook tungsten bead to the hook point you can be sure your hook point is facing down in the optimum position to take hold inside the mouth, this is important when using a balanced bait. I have been using this rig for quite a while and I have had more successful hooks ups than before I added the shot on the hook, I have also had much better hook holds.
  • Can be used with any manner of baits from bottom baits to popped up squid, pop ups, or critically balanced baits
  • Dedicated Extra large kickers fitted to each rig
  • The hook will flip and take hold instantly
  • Made with Premium braid like Korda Kamo (Available in 65lb and 80lb) Korda ArmaKord uncoated braiid 50lb, OMC Ammo 50lb
  • Comes with a choice of PREMIUM Hooks (mainly micro barbed however the barb can be crushed or removed if required
  • Choice of UK's Strongest size 8 swivels (195lb Breaking Strain)
  • Available with either a micro flexi ring to attach your bait to or the small quick change if you wish to use the very popular Block Rig

  • Optimal Usage:

    • This rig is best used with either a bottom bait, wafter or critically balanced bait over a clean lake bed
    • Can be used all year around

    RICKS RIGZ BUYING GUIDE

Choosing Your Ready Made Carp Rig

Use this guide to select the most suitable hook, hooklink, bait attachment and end connection for your fishing situation.

    01

    Choose the Hook Size

Match the hook size to your hook bait, target fish and fishery rules. Larger hooks can suit bigger baits, while smaller hooks provide a more discreet presentation.

    02

    Select a Hook Pattern

Wide gape, curve shank, crank and claw-style patterns offer different turning and holding characteristics. Choose the pattern that best suits your preferred presentation.

    03

    Choose the Hooklink or Boom

Shorter hooklinks create a compact presentation, while longer hooklinks provide greater separation and may suit softer lakebeds or more cautious carp.

    04

    Select the Bait Attachment

Bait screws make hook-bait changes quick, rig rings provide a traditional attachment and micro ring swivels allow greater freedom of movement.

    05

    Barbless or Micro-Barbed

Always check the rules of the fishery before selecting your hook type. Some waters require barbless hooks, while others permit micro-barbed patterns.

    06

    Check Before Casting

Check the hook point, knots, crimps and hooklink for damage before every cast. Replace any rig that appears blunt, kinked or weakened.

Rig selection tip: Match the rig to the hook bait, lakebed and fishing conditions rather than choosing solely by appearance.
