Catfish regularly go above 100lb in weight and are very hard fighting fish!
It is important you use the rig gear for the job that may be required. Our Catfish Rigs are  tried and tested over a long period of time and we only use materials that will enable you to land your prized fish.

The UK's Strongest size 8 swivels at a tested 195lb breaking strain.

A choice of braids which include:

• Korda Armakord - 50lb
• Korda Kamo Coated Braid 65lb and 80lb
• OMC Ammo 50lb
  
  These braids are tried and tested and they have enough abrasion resistance to prevent the rough pads of a catfish's mouth from shredding the braid!
  
  As for hooks, it is important that the hook is strong enough to handle the power of the catfish.
  Most hooks strong enough to land a catfish only come in Micro barbed however we do have the Catfish Pro BP Hooks which are barbless, or we can remove the barb on the other hooks to make them barbless. When we remove the barb we use a dremmel and grind the barb off and then use a hook pen to cover where the barb was to help prevent rust as the grinding removes the protective coating on the hooks.
