Premium Ready Tied Ronnie - Spinner rigs
The ever popular Ronnie or Spinner rig, designed to be used with a pop up (although a wafter can be used). This rig has gained popularity due to the number of big fish it catches every year. The hook sits upright and the specialised Ronnie swivel allows a full 360 degree rotation so no matter what angle the fish approaches this instant to react rig will spin and normally enter the bottom lip. The stiff boom is anti tangle by nature and will automatically kick the bait away from the lead, in the event of a aborted take the rig will reset itself ready for the next bite.
With this rig, you should test it in the margins or a tub of water to ensure the hook sits upright correctly, it may be necessary to add a bit of rig putty around the crimp/Krimp near the hook to counter-balance the buoyancy of the bait (or whittle your pop up down so it sits perfectly). Different brands and sizes of pop ups / Wafter may require more or less putty. Rig putty is not included with any rigs.
These rigs come with 3 options of boom material:
Clear, practically invisible in the water, will straighten without the need of steam should the rig become kinked.
Black, perfect for fishing over silt, again will straighten without the need of steam.
Camo, a unique flecked fishing of green, brown and black. This camo helps to break up unnatural lines in the water. This boom has a incredible breaking strain, a very high abrasion resistance.
