Taking the successful Ronnie or Spinner rig and combining it with the hair rig (as shown in the recent Korda Lost Tapes Youtube video) , a small change in the mechanics can make all the difference to your hook up ratio, this is a favoured method by Korda's Danny Fairbrass. He tweaked the already very popular Ronnie or Spinner rig to get the very best out of it. By whipping a hair to the shank of the hook using Korda Loop braid he was able to present a bait with a more natural movement and a even quicker reaction to a carp sucking the bait in, the hook will naturally fly in to the Carps mouth.

The Ronnie or Spinner rig comes in to its own in autumn when there is leaves and "chod" on the bottom, a pop up bait is presented just above the debris, enticing for any passing Carp!

The stiff boom makes this rig anti tangle and self resetting in the event of an aborted take.

This rig is designed for use with pop ups however there is no reason why you couldn't use a wafter with it.

To get the best out of this rig you should test the rig in the margin to ensure the boom lays flat and the hook sits upright with your pop up. It may be necessary you will need to either add some putty around the crimp or whittle your pop up down to get the best presentation (different brands and sizes of pop ups require different amounts of weight to counteract the buoyancy. If you are using a wafter you want the hook and boom to lay flat and the wafter hovering just above the hook.

This rig is crimped / Krimped for strength and neatness using the correct sized crimps for each boom material.

Tips for optimal usage:
With the range of kicker colours available with this rig, you can either choose to conceal your rig by using a colour similar to the bottom or your hook bait, or you can use the Carps inquisitive nature to your advantage by using a bright colour to stand out!
When using a pop up or wafter bait you should check to ensure the rig is sitting properly prior to fishing. You want the hook section to stand up right but the boom to lay flat, if you find that the boom lifts up add a bit of rig putty around the crimp nearest to the hook. If the hook dont sit upright either add some rig cork to your pop up or use a bigger pop up to get the optimal presentation. With a wafter bait, you want the hook to lay flat, if it lifts up with the buoyancy of your bait simply trim the boilie down with some scissors.

These rigs are suitable for bottom baits. Simply add your bait and connect your rig to your preferred lead set up and you are fishing.

These rigs are suitable for wafters or critically balanced baits. It is often best to use a slightly larger bait than you would normally use and then trim it down with some scissors until you get that perfect presentation, the bait wafting just above the hook masking it from view of any fish and the hook laying flat
