The Ronnie Rig or Spinner rig was the best kept secret in big carp fishing for many years. It is a rig that can be used almost anywhere and with most baits and on most waters! The stiff boom makes this rig ideal to fish at any range and is anti tangle, the hook sits there ready and primed to nail the fish. This particular version is made for using a bunch of maggots, either alive or artificial or even a mix to create a critically balanced bait. This tactic is effective all year around.
Unique features of the Maggot Clip Ronnie Rig:
self-resetting - In the event of an aborted take the rig will reset itself ready for the next bite
Anti tangle - The stiff boom eliminates the risk of tangles during the cast
Uninhibited 360 degree rotation of the hook - No matter what way a carp approaches the hook will spin around and take hold in the bottom lip
Suitable for use with lead clips (select the terminated with a size 8 rolling swivel) or can be terminated in a loop for quick and easy connection to a QC swivel for fishing with a helicopter style set up if that is your preference.
There is 2 options of boom material, clear Amnesia which is memory free so it can be straightened without the need of steam, simply pull the rig straight again should it get kinked when fighting a fish, the other option is the new Camo option, this is a subtle green and brown fleck, designed to blend in to any substrate and particularly effective when the water starts to clear. The camo boom is also highly abrasion resistant and around 50lb breaking strain (still being around the same thickness as Korda Boom).
I also offer a selection of different colours of shrink tube, Korda proved how inquisitive Carp are and often will go and investigate bright coloured objects. The different colours are also handy if you wish to try and blend everything in to your bait, yellow for fake corn for example.
