Fishing with a PVA solid bag is one of the most popular methods of fishing, the  Solid bag will allow you to fish over most lake beds.  By using such a short rig you can guarantee your hook bait is presented over a small amount of highly attractive free offerings, this also prevents you from over feeding the fish. Once a fish has moved over your bait they quickly hoover up the free offerings and along with these your hook bait too! The result is as soon as the fish turns its head the hooklink will tighten against the lead and the lead will help the hook to grip inside the lip giving. 

The rig itself is very versatile and comes in a range of options, if you are fishing bottom baits then a bait screw is best suited to that style, If you are fishing a balanced or pop up bait then a micro swivel is the best option. This will give you something to tie your bait floss too ( a top tip is to use a small pop up and some live maggots to make a Medusa style rig , awesome when you have maggots in your pva Solid  bag or method mix). You may find a small bit of rig putty may be required to balance the rig.

This rig can be used with method feeders as well. I would recommend using the Super Natural braid for method feeder fishing

Ensure the rig is balanced correctly before fishing, if you are using a wafter test the rig to ensure the hook lays flat, if it lifts up trim the wafter down until the hook lays flat on the bottom. If you are using a pop up you can either add a bit of rig putty just before the hook to counteract the buoyancy of the bait.
