The Darrell Peck Style wafter rig is a rig favoured by Darrell Peck for using large Wafters and heavy bottom baits, by using a heavy hook bait (18mm for example) this keeps the hook away from the weight and eliminates the risk of tangles on the cast. This rig is normally made with Korda Dark Matter supple braid, very supple but also very heavy so it sinks to the bottom and follows the contours. The shorter hair means the hook lays flat and as soon as the Carp sucks up the bait the hook will automatically fly in to the carps mouth the take hold. To ensure the mechanics of this rig work correctly, the rig does not have a kicker.

The Rig is measured from the Eye of the hook to the loop or swivel.

Top Tip for performance:
When using a wafter it is essential you test the rig in a tub of water. You want your hook to lay flat and the bait to waft over the hook. If the hookbait lifts the hook then simply trim your hook bait down with some scissors.
