Lead Arrangement:

For the optimal results, a lead clip system works best but a inline lead or helicopter rig is also very effective.

The hair rig is one of the first inventions for Carp Rigs and has caught countless Carp all over the world. All these years on the Hair rig and blowback rigs are still "staple" rigs in a lot of anglers rig boxes due to how versatile the rigs are, they can be used with all manner of baits from bottom baits to a couple of bits of artificial corn or even a pop up boilie.  Due to the way the bait is mounted on a hair it leaves the hook clear to get the best grip inside the lip.

Tips for these rigs:

If you are using a balanced bait or a pop up, you should test the rig prior to fishing to ensure you get the correct presentation. It may be required that some rig putty is added to the braid to counter balance the buoyancy of the bait. If you select a coated braid, slide the coating back a little bit from the hook to expose the supple core, add your rig putty where the coating ends and this will create a hinge which will give better mechanics to the rig.
