Optimal Usage:

This rig is best used with either a pop up

When using a Pop up a small amount of putty may be required to balance the bait so it dont lift the boom up

This carp rig is measured as the stiff boom only - from the specialised hook swivel to the swivel/Loop

Terminated:
Terminated in either a size 8 swivel (Fits most lead clip systems / Inline leads)

Lead Arrangement:

The Ronnie Rig was the best kept secret in big carp fishing for many years. It is often now found in many anglers armoury because just how effective this rig is when using a pop ups. The hook sits there ready and primed to nail the fish just of the bottom of the lake. The Boom material kicks your bait away from your weight and is very stealthy on the lake bed.

There is 3 options of boom material, clear or black ultra strong boom (Unique to Ricks Rigz) which is memory free so it can be straightened without the need of steam, simply pull the rig straight again should it get kinked when fighting a fish, the other option is the new Camo option, this is a subtly green and brown fleck, designed to blend in to any substrate and particularly effective when the water starts to clear. The camo boom is also highly abrasion resistant and around 50lb breaking strain (still being around the same thickness as Korda Boom).

This rig is crimped / Krimped for strength and neatness using the correct sized crimps for each boom material.

Tips for optimal usage:
With the range of kicker colours available with this rig, you can either choose to conceal your rig by using a colour similar to the bottom or your hook bait, or you can use the Carps inquisitive nature to your advantage by using a bright colour to stand out!
When using a pop up or wafter bait you should check to ensure the rig is sitting properly prior to fishing. You want the hook section to stand up right but the boom to lay flat, if you find that the boom lifts up add a bit of rig putty around the crimp nearest to the hook. If the hook dont sit upright either add some rig cork to your pop up or use a bigger pop up to get the optimal presentation. With a wafter bait, you want the hook to lay flat, if it lifts up with the buoyancy of your bait simply trim the boilie down with some scissors.
